Loan Round-Up: Richards helps Rowdies to another clean sheet

1 April 2019

Caleb Richards continued his impressive start to life to Tampa Bay, helping the Rowdies keep their third clean sheet of the USL Championship Eastern Conference season on Saturday.

A left full-back by trade, Richards is currently being deployed on the left side of a central defensive three in Neill Collins' team.

He once again played the full 90 minutes on Saturday night as the Rowdies drew 0-0 at home to Loudoun United. The draw continues their unbeaten start to the season with two wins and two draws from their four games.

Back on British soil, Ben Marshall netted from the penalty spot in Millwall’s Sky Bet Championship game at Leeds United, but it proved in vain as the hosts ran out 3-2 winners.

With the scored at 1-1, Marshall was fouled on 55 minutes and duly stepped up to convert from the spot and put Millwall in the driving seat.

However, goals from Luke Ayling and Pablo Hernandez, his second of the game, ensured Leeds took all three points.

In League One, James Husband played the full 90 minutes of Fleetwood Town’s 1-0 win at Accrington Stanley.

The only goal of the game came on 50 minutes when Harry Souttar, on loan from Stoke City, powered home a header from a Ross Wallace cross.

In League Two, Tristan Abrahams played the final 24 minutes of Yeovil Town's 3-1 home defeat to Newport County.

In the National League, Ant Spyrou played 45 minutes of Wrexham’s 4-2 defeat at Ebbsfleet United, his first start at senior level.

Wrexham were three-down at the interval but managed to reduce the deficit to just one in the second-half thanks to goals from Stuart Beavon and Shaun Pearson.

However, Gozie Ugwu’s late strike sealed the win for Ebbsfleet.

In Germany, Marcel Franke played 90 minutes in SV Darmstadt's 1-1 draw with Jahn Regensburg in 2.Bundesliga.

Sean Raggett (Rotherham United), Matt Jarvis (Walsall), Steven Naismith (Hearts), Yanic Wildschut (Bolton Wanderers), Simon Power (FC Dordrecht), Mason Bloomfield (AFC Fylde) and Nelson Oliveira (Reading) all missed action at their loan clubs through injury. Timi Odusina (AFC Fylde) was also absent from play.
