Tom Trybull hailed an important Norwich City victory as they beat Birmingham City 3-1 for their first win in six games.
City put their opponents to the sword in the first-half and led at half-time after goals from Teemu Pukki, Mario Vrancic and Trybull had cancelled out Che Adams’ initial equaliser.
And the Canaries managed to control the second-half and ease to a welcome three points in front of their home support.
Speaking to canaries.co.uk post-match, Trybull said: “It was a good reaction from us after the equaliser. We showed a good reaction and still played our football and the way we like to play.
“It was a really good first-half. We were still comfortable in the second-half but maybe not with the perfect last ball.
“But it was still a comfortable win and we have lots of confidence also to take forward.
“It was very important [to win]. We’ve shown some good performances in recent weeks. We’ve been a little bit unlucky in some games with just a point and the loss with Derby.
“For the team, it was very important [to win] because we know we are capable of scoring a lot of goals.”
Trybull was particularly pleased to mark his return to the starting eleven with a goal. The German midfielder has found starts hard to come by this season.
“It was deserved goal for myself,” he continued. “I’ve worked hard over the last few months and in the last few weeks and when I’ve came on [as a substitute] in the games, I showed good performances.
“Sometimes you have to accept the decision of the coach but I kept going. I will still believe in myself and I’m happy to be back.
“If I put too much pressure on myself [before the game], I wouldn’t have been able to show this performance.
“I know what I’m capable of. It’s my job to play football and help the team and all of us did a great job today.”
Looking ahead, Trybull believes the Canaries can take a huge amount of confidence into next weekend’s clash with Sheffield United.
“Today was again a great reaction after the goal we conceded immediately after taking the lead. The team will keep going and take our confidence.
“It was good step in the right direction, with the upcoming games. We showed everybody that we back on track. We are looking forward to the next game.”
