Norwich City forward Teemu Pukki notched yet another assist on his international record, as Finland beat the Republic of Ireland 1-0 in the Nations League on Wednesday evening.
The striker pounced on a Darren Randolph goal-kick to set Fredrik Jensen up in front of goal, his second assist in two games for the Huuhkajat. The win now leaves Finland second in Group 4 of League B in the Nations League, seven points clear of tonight’s opposition.
Meanwhile in that same fixture, City striker Adam Idah earnt a spot on the Republic of Ireland bench, coming on for the last 14 minutes of play in their defeat.
Kenny McLean also came off the bench to log 20 minutes for Scotland in their 1-0 win over Czech Republic in Group 2 of League B in the same competition, leaving them top of the group with a four-point advantage.
Canaries ‘keeper Tim Krul was on the bench for the Netherlands 1-1 draw with Italy, the shot-stopper unused. The draw sees the Dutch side third in Group 1 of League A, two points behind group leaders Poland.
Finally, Michael McGovern was also an unused substitute in Northern Ireland’s 1-0 loss to Norway in Group 1 of League B in the Nations League, that result seeing the side fourth-place and three points behind Romania.
