Loan Round-Up: Nine City loanees in action

Nine Norwich City loanees got minutes under their belts for their respective sides last week.

Philip Heise would have been pleased with his weekend’s work as he played 90 minutes and kept a clean sheet in Karlsruher SC’s 1-0 win away to SV Darmstadt on Friday. Karlsruher are now fifth in the 2. Bundesliga.

It was a great week for King’s Lynn Town, who beat Barnet 5-1 at home on Tuesday and drew 2-2 at home to Weymouth on Saturday, with Archie Mair playing the full 180 minutes. The Linnets are now 20th in the National League.

In the Championship, Tom Trybull returned to the pitch for Blackburn Rovers as he came on in the 62nd minute of Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home to Coventry City, a result which puts Tony Mowbray’s side 15th in the division.

Elsewhere in the second tier, Sam McCallum played all of the aforementioned draw at Ewood Park as well as Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat away to Swansea City. The Sky Blues are now 20th in the league.

Overseas, Timm Klose featured for 90 minutes in FC Basel’s 3-1 defeat at St. Gallen on Saturday, the latter closing the gap on Basel who just about remain second in the Swiss Super League.

It was a weekend to forget for Charlton Athletic, Akin Famewo one of nine Addicks to finish their 3-0 defeat at home to Blackpool on Saturday. Lee Bowyer’s side sit 12th in League One.

SC Telstar lost 2-0 at MVV Maastricht on Friday, Dan Adshead playing the first 81 minutes as Telstar went ninth in the Eerste Divisie.

There were cameo appearances for Danel Sinani and Josip Drmic on the weekend. Sinani came on in the 65th minute of Waasland-Beveren’s 2-0 loss at Cercle Brugge to go 18th in the Belgian Pro League.

Drmic, meanwhile, came on in the 73rd minute of HNK Rijeka’s 1-0 defeat at home to Hajduk Split. Rijeka are now fourth in the 1. HNL.
