My RDP Journey

4 February 2020

With the Regional Development Programme engaging with hundreds of boys and girls weekly across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Suffolk we thought we would head out and learn more about their RDP journeys so far.

First up we meet brothers Alex and Filip who have attended RDP sessions for a combined 7 years. Their journeys started when they attended a Player Technical Centre in Ely. From there they have attended holiday clubs and even a lunch club at a local primary school while still attending our regular PTC training on Thursday evenings!

What do Alex & Filip enjoy most about the sessions?

Alex enjoys the challenges that are set by coaches and the coaching points he is given throughout the sessions! His favourite thing is the matches at the end as he can practice what he has been working on!

Filip says he enjoys the different topics that are focused on each week especially shooting and defending. He also loves the coaching points that the coaches give him to help him improve!

Football creates so many memories so what are Alex and Filip’s so far?

Alex says his favourite memory is when he scored his first goal which happened to be against his brother! In his own words “It was a great shot, UNSTOPPABLE!”

Filip’s favourite memories so far are tackling tricky players and scoring a screamer of a long shot against his friend!
