Boys Youth Development Opportunities 2020-2021

6 July 2020

As part of our ongoing development for boys football at the Norwich City FC RDP, we will be providing further opportunities and additional activities for our invitation only centres for outfield players, within each of our three regions.

We will be operating a two-tiered pathway for outfield players.

The Player Development Centre is the first tier of our regional youth development pathway. It offers players the chance to receive weekly technical coaching sessions for 1.5 hours a week over 32 sessions, at venues situated in key areas around Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Peterborough.

The primary focus of the PDC at Norwich City FC is to play a key role in identifying and supporting the development of gifted and talented boys, as well as supplementing their grassroots football.

The Elite Player Development Centre, is the highest tier for boys in Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Peterborough, and offers Under-9 to Under-16 players the chance to receive between 2-3.5 hours per week for 36 sessions of technical coaching through football (U9-U16) & futsal (U9-U12) sessions.

As part of both packages, the programmes will also receive opportunities for fixtures, development camp days, feedback report, tours, individual progression and a pathway into our Post 16 Football & Education programmes

Please note: These centres do not take children away from continuing to play grassroots football with their Clubs.

We will be delivering the following centres for the 20/21 season.

Cambridgeshire

Elite Player Development Centre -  U9-U16 – 1 Centre

Player Development Centre – U9-U16 – 4 Centres

Peterborough

Elite Player Development Centre -  U9-U16 – 1 Centre

Player Development Centre – U9-U16 – 3 Centres

Suffolk

Elite Player Development Centre -  U9-U16 – 1 Centre

Player Development Centre – U9-U16 – 3 Centres

Brand new for the 20/21 season, we are delighted to be entering our Elite PDC U13 – U16 teams from each of our regions into a League organised by the Norwich City FC Community Sports Foundation.

This league will involve other Professional Clubs Elite programmes to form a competitive fixtures schedule throughout the year. Games will be played on a home and away basis, and will provide a fantastic opportunity for our participants to regularly receive match time, around their weekly training programme.

For entry into our invitation only courses, boys must be seen by our football development team, and this can be done via open trials/invitation trials, attending our community courses or being scouted.

If you wish to receive further information regarding future trials for the 20/21 season when they are released, please complete the ‘Register Your Interest Form’ HERE.
