Norwich City’s Regional Development Programme is delighted to welcome Ware Football Club to the partner club programme, which will provide further development opportunities and experiences with the Football Club.
As the flagship partner club for Hertfordshire, Ware FC will be provided a variety of opportunities each season in the form of fixtures, CPD and support of the Eastern Junior Alliance (EJA) U13-U16 squads, therefore developing an all-round package alongside their already successful youth set up, and helping to create an even more professional learning environment for the players and management at Ware FC.
Alex Kaufman, managing director of the RDP, said: “Ware FC is a fantastic club with a successful youth system in place and outstanding facilities to match.
“Since we met with a number of key members of the club, we were impressed with their enthusiasm and dedication, and how they were keen to create more opportunities for their children.
“This provides us with the perfect platform to add further support to Ware FC and open up more opportunities both though the RDP and the football club. We have recently completed two virtual coaching weekends working with over 200 Ware youth and EJA players, and have recently launched a development centre at their facility too for the Hertfordshire community, so it is certainly a great fit for both parties”.
Phil Pledger, head of youth at Ware FC, said: “It’s clear that the team at Norwich City have a clear objective and that is to create opportunities for talented players, something that I feel strongly about and this partnership echoes that. Can we develop our coaches further? Can we develop & coach our players to higher standards? Can we create a better environment for our players, parents and coaches? This partnership provides this 100% and much, much more.
“Thanks to Alex and his team at Norwich City FC RDP, also to all at Ware FC (Inanc, Hayley, Kevin & Kim) for the support getting this signed off!”
Kevin Kuhn, head of EJA at Ware FC, said: "This is huge news for the club to be partnering through the Norwich City FC RDP with one of only a few category one academy setups nationally, and we can exclusively in Hertfordshire provide the facilities, and alongside it our exceptionally strong youth set up which has been running for a number of years.
“Phil Pledger and I have been working alongside Alex Kaufman and Ricky Douglas since January and to finally get this over the line is fantastic and a great statement of progress from the chairman.”
Ware Football Club becomes the second partner club, following on from Histon Football Club as the flagship club for Cambridgeshire, and we look forward to developing further with the two clubs as we progress.
