Trophy Tour!

16 July 2021

On Thursday, July 15, 2021, the Norwich City FC Regional Development Programme were delighted to be able to visit our partner college programmes, providing the opportunity for its pupils and staff to view the official Sky Bet Championship Trophy that Norwich City FC went onto lift at the end of the 20-21 season, as promotion was secured back to the Premier League, and Norwich were crowned champions!

The trophy tour began at Thomas Deacon Academy in Peterborough, before making its way round Stratton Upper School, Impington International College and then finishing at Bishop Laney Sixth Form in Ely before returning to Carrow Road.

On arrival at each venue, the pupils and staff waited in anticipation to be in the company of the historic trophy of English football.

It was clear to see everyone enjoyed the chance to view the trophy and it certainly provided a well needed boost after such a difficult year.

Bishop Laney Sixth Form tweeted: "The Official Championship Trophy has been on tour today with @NCFCRDP and @BishopLaneyVI and @elycollege were their last stop before the trophy returns home to @NorwichCityFC. Football & Education at Bishop Laney inspiring the next generation of players! Amazing opportunity!”

Managing Director Alex Kaufman said: "We were delighted to be able to provide our partner colleges with an inspirational event that the students and staff will never forget. It’s not something that comes around every day, and we were really grateful to be able to provide this opportunity to those involved with our Football & Education schemes. Our aims are to increase the bond between our projects and programmes outside of Norfolk with the Football Club and this was a really special occasion for everyone involved."
