Opening day win for City
Norwich City Ladies opened their 2012-13 season with a home fixture and win against Ebbsfleet Ladies at Plantation Park.
City opened the scoring after just eight minutes following a corner, with Basson heading home. And just seven minutes later it was 2-0 to the hosts after good work from Love down the flank giving Stephen's a simple tap in.
On 18 minutes, Ebbsfleet pulled a goal back after Coombes in goal failed to hold on to a cross. City then stretched their lead again after a corner found Larkins at the back post to volley the ball home after 40 minutes.
There was still time in the first half for Ebbsfleet to get their second through a penalty awarded for a trip by Parson - who saw a yellow card for the challenge.
Goal of the game has to go to Diston who won the ball in her own half and ran avoiding Ebbsfleet tackles into the oppositions box before drawing the keeper, rounding her and firing the ball in to the back of the empty net!
Half-time: Norwich City Ladies 4, Ebbsfleet Ladies 2
City's fifth came on the hour mark and only a minute later Love also got a well deserved goal to make it 6-2. City made three substitutions with Fuller replacing Basson, Clark replacing Love and Collison replacing Parsons.
Ebbsfleet pushed forward with nothing to lose and Coombes made up for her mistake in the first half making two crucial saves. However, Ebbsfleet finished the game stronger and scored two further goals, but City held on to win the game.
