New signing from Rennes happy to be at Carrow Road

NORWICH City new boy Alexander Tettey can’t wait to get started in the Barclays Premier League after putting pen-to-paper on a two-year-deal with Chris Hughton’s side.

The Norwegian international midfielder joins from Ligue 1 side Rennes for an undisclosed fee, becoming Manager Hughton’s seventh signing of the summer.

The 26-year-old is still awaiting international clearance, but it is clear just how enthusiastic the defensive midfielder is to be at Carrow Road.

He told Canaries Player: “I'm very, very excited. Every player watches the Premier League and wants to play in it.

“I'm so pleased, and as of now my journey with Norwich starts and I'm looking forward to giving everything.

“It’s fantastic to join Norwich City Football Club. It’s a traditional English club, I've seen people working hard here all day long and it's a good club.

“Everybody I have spoken to is very nice. We've got on really well, even before I signed.

“There are nice people here, a nice atmosphere, so I'm looking forward to starting training and playing games.”

Tettey, who has 14 caps for Norway, revealed that once again the Manager played a key role in bringing a player to Carrow Road.

He said: “I spoke to him before I came. He's a nice guy and he explained to me how he wants to use me, and I'm pleased to have now met him and be playing for him.

“I'm very confident because I think the game in England suits my style. It depends how the team plays, but the English league is a game of pace and power, and not that much different to the French League.

“I saw some of Norwich’s games last season, and I thought they did very well.

“I've heard people from the Club saying how good the atmosphere is going to be at Carrow Road, so I'm really looking forward to it.”
