City to play Peterborough United at London Road in FA Cup

City have been drawn to face npower Championship outfit Peterborough United at London Road in the third round of the FA Cup with Budweiser.

The Canaries will face the Posh over the weekend of January 5/6 2013.

It will be City's second trip to London Road this season since the Canaries' pre-season friendly clash with the Posh in July; goals from Steve Morison and James Vaughan winning the friendly clash.

Ticket details for City's FA Cup third round tie will be announced on as soon as they are confirmed.

City Manager Chris Hughton told "First and foremost I’m pleased for our supporters, as it’s not too far to travel.

"If you are going to play away from home you want to avoid a draw against another Premier League team, and we’ve been fortunate in the Capital One Cup to have home draws so the law of averages says that this one was going to go against us.

"Peterborough will be dangerous because they’ll be lifted by the fact they are playing against Premier League opposition and we know how the FA Cup can affect teams.

"The FA Cup is still one you look forward to as a manager and player. There’s always massive excitement once the draw comes out, and I’m quite sure there will be a full house and a great atmosphere at London Road.

"Some might say it was a bit of a premonition, but I was there at London Road only yesterday actually, because it was an opportunity to watch a game, and there aren't too many places you can get to in time for kick-off on a Saturday after training."
