Midfielder happy to extend winning run
CITY winger Anthony Pilkington couldn’t hide his delight after scoring his third goal in three Barclays Premier League games at Carrow Road in a 2-1 win over Wigan Athletic.
Wes Hoolahan set up Pilkington to score the opener before Shaun Maloney responded for the Latics in the second half.
Pilkington then turned provider, giving Hoolahan, who signed a new contract before the match, the perfect cross to head past Ali Al Habsi and send City up to seventh in the league.
The in-form winger told Canaries Player: “I’m enjoying things at the minute, the fans really get behind us and I think it’s three goals in three games here, but it’s three points and it’s massive for us.
“Wes did really well for the first goal, he persisted with the tackle and slipped a ball through so I thought it was only right to do the same for him in the second half!
“He’s a great player, and probably the best player I’ve played with. You only have to look at his footwork and how good he is on the ball.
“It’s great for the Club that he’ll be here until 2015, and great for him too.
"It’s a massive win going into a tough period. It’s great for the fans and it’s good to bounce back from the defeat against Aston villa on Tuesday.
“We’ve picked up a lot of points in the last couple of weeks and it means we’re sitting nicely going into a tough Christmas period so we’re delighted with that.
“I think their ‘keeper pulled off a few good saves and we looked comfortable enough throughout the game.
“We could have had a few more goals but it’s three points at the end of the day and they’re tough points to come across in this league and we’re delighted.”
