City take on Peterborough United at London Road on Saturday

CHRIS Hughton’s Norwich City side are in action again on Saturday as they tackle Darren Ferguson’s Peterborough United in a friendly at London Road, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.

The Championship side will provide yet another stern test for the Canaries as their pre-season gets into full swing following two previous away outings against Hertha Berlin and Celtic.

Grant Holt’s late strike earned City a 1-0 win over Scottish champions Celtic at Parkhead on Tuesday, and after a hard-working performance from the lads, Manager Hughton will be looking for more of the same as he prepares for the Barclays Premier League opener at Fulham on August 18.

A trip to London Road will also carry significance for current City duo Russell Martin and Ryan Bennett, who both had spells with the club.

Martin spent around 18 months with Posh from May 2008, before signing a permanent deal with City in January, 2010.

Bennett meanwhile was the last signing of the January 2012 transfer window, with his move from Darren Ferguson’s side going through just minutes before the deadline.

Summer signing Steven Whittaker is likely to miss the tie after picking up an ankle injury in the win over Celtic however.

City fans can follow live updates from the match on our official twitter page (@NorwichCityFC), with match report and post-match reaction available on www.canaries.co.uk afterwards.

EXCLUSIVE highlights of the match will also be available to Canaries Player subscribers.
