Defender to remain with AFC Wimbledon

NORWICH City defender George Francomb has agreed a loan extension with League Two side AFC Wimbledon until November 29, 2012.

The 21-year-old right-back joined the Dons days after his Man-of-the-Match display for City in the 2-1 Capital One Cup win over Scunthorpe United in August.

Francomb has played 13 times for the Dons this season, and has also impressed further up the pitch in a midfield role in recent matches.

A product of the Norwich City Academy, Francomb made his first team début during a 1-0 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy victory over Gillingham in October 2009, followed four days later by his league bow in a 1-0 win away to Carlisle.

Last season Francomb played 17 times for Scottish Premier League side Hibernian during a loan spell, including a cameo in the Scottish Cup final defeat to Hearts.
