City 'keeper joins others on international duty
CITY ‘keeper John Ruddy has been called-up to the England squad for their upcoming friendly clash with Sweden.
The Canaries stopper will meet up with the squad for their friendly clash win Stockholm on November 14, kick-off 7.30pm.
Ruddy will hope to add to his cap picked up in a friendly against Italy in August, where he made key saves as the three lions went on to secure a 2-1 victory. Once again he joins former Canary Fraser Forster in Roy Hodgson’s squad.
Roy Hodgson will be at Carrow Road for our Football Nights event.
Canary defender Steven Whittaker has been called up by interim Scotland manager Billy Stark for their international friendly in Luxembourg on November 14.
Summer signing Whittaker has made his Club senior and Barclays Premier League debuts in City's last two games against Spurs and Stoke, having missed the beginning of the season with an ankle injury.
However, Russell Martin and Robert Snodgrass have not been included in the Scottish squad this time round - Whittaker replacing Martin at right-back for City after he sustained a back problem in the recent 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.
Fellow Canaries Alex Tettey and Wes Hoolahan are also on international duty next week with Norway and Ireland respectively.
There have also been a number of international calls for City's young stars -
Jacob Murphy - England Under-19s
Cameron King - Scotland Under-18s/19s
Adel Gafaiti - Algeria Under-20s
Kyle McFadden - Republic of Ireland Under-18s
