Defender happy to be in the same team as Holt
The skipper netted the winning goal in the 1-0 win at Carrow Road to drag Chris Hughtonâs side out of the relegation zone and secure a first league win of the season in the process.
Bassong, who also performed brilliantly in defence alongside Michael Turner, told Canaries Player: âWhen you play against Holt, heâs such a beast.Â
âHeâs so annoying, always running at you, will never leave you alone, so Iâd rather have him in my team than against me!
âIâm very proud about the result and the team today. We did very well and we worked our socks off to get the great result at the end.â
There were impressive performances all over the park for City, and Bassong admits that the team were spurred on by the electric atmosphere created by the Norwich City crowd.
âThe crowd was lifting the roof off the stadium and it was really good to play in, and it helps us have a good go. It was such a good atmosphere
âAt the end of the game we were exhausted as we worked really hard, but we know thatâs what weâve got to do to get a result against such a good team.Â
âI thought we deserved it from the start and Iâm really happy.
âDefensively we were really solid, and from the front all the way to the âkeeper we worked as a unit and thatâs what gave us strength.Â
âI was alongside Turner and he played really well today. I think the most important thing is that we kept a clean sheet.
âWe really needed it because weâve been working so hard from the start of the season and thatâs our first win. All of us at the club, and the staff, and the manager deserved that win and weâre really happy to get it against Arsenal.â
