CITY AWARD FOR ARSENAL WIN

25 October 2012

Chris Hughton to be presented with Performance of the Week Award

THE League Managers Association five-man Performance of the Week panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, were in agreement that this week, the F&C Investments Performance of the Week Award should go to Norwich City following their excellent 1-0 home win against Arsenal in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday, October 20, 2012.

Manager Chris Hughton will receive a specially engraved crystal football in a presentation to commemorate the award.

Norwich won the eighth F&C Investments Performance of the Week Award of the season, with an impressive display at Carrow Road.

The Canaries won their first top-flight game of the season through a Grant Holt strike, resulting in him netting in three successive Premier League appearances.

After the match, Hughton was delighted with the performance and result, saying: "This has been a long time coming, which our performances have warranted. However, this league is unforgiving.

"I am delighted for the team, because the work-rate was outstanding and the result is no coincidence.

"We could have caught them on the counter more and made life easier for ourselves towards the end, but overall we restricted them and so it was a very satisfactory performance.

"We have deserved this by our play this season so far, so it is a very good feeling to get the win here at Carrow Road for the supporters."
