Study Centre introduces new programme
The NCFC Study Centre has introduced its new educational programmes to teachers.
Teachers from Norfolk schools were invited to an open evening, which showcased unique experiences, resources and activities the Centre can offer to schools and the local community.
Tutor Katie Cole, said: “With the Premier League well under way, this is a very exciting time for Norwich City Football Club and for us at the Study Centre as we strive to maintain a premier approach to learning in all our projects.”
A new after-school scheme, the NCFC Skills Challenge, will offer a unique, vibrant learning opportunity for young people. The children will be set a series of challenges over 6 weeks and will have to use a range of skills in order to complete them. Every student who completes the programme will achieve the Junior Achievement Award, which helps children to plan and review learning through a range of exciting activities.
A unique Spanish educational project will be supported by Javier Garrido, Norwich City's new Spanish defender. Garrido will be providing the voice for the after-school Spanish Double Club programme, where students will learn Spanish through football-themed lessons and sports sessions.
Other programmes include English and Maths Double Club, where students learn literacy and numeracy skills through football-related resources and activities.
Teachers also discovered how different subjects and skills can be taught through visiting the stadium on educational day trips.
