Kamara interview, Yellows Ask and more in Swansea's OTBCCITY's official matchday programme for the Canaries’ Barclays Premier League match with Swansea City is now on sale.
This latest edition of ‘OTBC’ includes the first of four FREE posters. Tomorrow’s poster features the City goalkeepers with a defenders version to follow at the Reading match on April 20, midfielders v Aston Villa and strikers for the final home game against West Bromwich Albion.
Kei Kamara is the subject of this weekend’s ‘Big Interview’ and the popular City striker provides readers with his uplifting story from growing up during the civil war in Sierra Leone to fulfilling his Premier League dream.
Kei recalls: “Football was the saviour for the kids – growing up in Africa that’s what we all did. We just played, even with the gunshots.
“When the gunshots stopped, if it stopped for 30 minutes or an hour, and we heard people outside we’d come outside and we’d start playing. And then we’d be playing in the streets…and then you’d hear people running and you’d hear a commotion and you’d run back inside and stay in.
“But that’s just something that we did all the time, and as kids we’re able to come out, and be together and playing – and doing that saved us a lot because if there was nothing like that what would the kids be doing?”
The match programme continues to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 1992-93 season when the Canaries ended a memorable campaign with a third place finish in the inaugural Premier League. Four pages recall our memorable 1-0 win over Aston Villa and we have an exclusive interview with goalscorer John Polston.
The popular ‘self certified’ Q&A sees Mark Bunn’s portrait of team-mate Declan Rudd while striker Luciano Becchio answers the Yellow Army’s questions in Yellows Ask.
Former City striker David Hodgson recalls the night his Carrow Road hat-trick against Millwall secured a 4-1 League Cup success.
A whopping 11-pages are dedicated to our Capital One Cup winning visitors Swansea which include an exclusive interview with Swans celebrity fan and former England cricketer Robert Croft - so there is lots inside for visiting fans too.
