Midfielder makes return from knee injury in Sociedad game

CHRIS Hughton handed Bradley Johnson his first start of the 2013/14 pre-season as the midfielder lined up for the Canaries for their friendly against Real Sociedad at Carrow Road.

The 26-year-old suffered a knee injury in the early stages of the tour of the United States and didn’t feature in any of the five matches prior to Tuesday night’s game.

The Carrow Road support got their first look at summer signings Martin Olsson, Nathan Redmond, Leroy Fer and Ricky van Wolfswinkel, who were all named in the starting eleven.

Meanwhile, Mark Bunn started in goal and City’s two-goal man from Braga, recent signing Gary Hooper, was named among the substitutes with former Real Sociedad full-back Javier Garrido.

NORWICH CITY: Bunn; Whittaker, Turner, Martin, Olsson; Snodgrass, Howson, Johnson, Redmond; Fer; van Wolfswinkel. Subs: Nash (GK), R Bennett, Ayala, Garrido, Tettey, Butterfield, Hoolahan, E Bennett, Hooper, Becchio.
