Robert Snodgrass returns from injury

CITY made just one change for their visit to the Stadium of Light to take on Sunderland, with Robert Snodgrass making a welcome return to the starting line-up from injury.

Unfortunately the player to make way was the in-form Jonny Howson, who was withdrawn from the squad due to injury.

A reshuffled midfield saw Nathan Redmond and Snodgrass on the left and right flanks respectively, with Bradley Johnson and Leroy Fer patrolling the centre of the park.

Gary Hooper continued to lead the line after his wonder-goal against Swansea last weekend, with able-bodied support from Johan Elmander.

There was further good news on the bench, with record signing Ricky van Wolfswinkel making his return from injury after recovering from the toe problem which had sidelined him for several weeks.

Norwich City: Ruddy; Whittaker, Turner, Bassong (c), Olsson; Snodgrass, Fer, Johnson, Redmond; Elmander, Hooper. Subs: Bunn (GK), van Wolfswinkel, Hoolahan, Garrido, Becchio, R Bennett, Josh Murphy.
