Inexperienced Under-18s well beaten by Reading at Colney

NEIL Adams' rested the majority of his first-team as Norwich City's Under-18s slipped to a 3-0 home defeat to Reading on Saturday morning.

With their FA Youth Cup Third Round meeting with Preston North End on the horizon, City fielded a youthful eleven and were comfortably dispatched by the Royals.

Sammi Fridjonsson scored twice in the first-half for the visitors, with De'Jaune Taylor-Crossdale wrapping up the points midway through the second half.

Adams' more senior players will return for the trip to Deepdale this Wednesday December 11 (7pm) as they begin the defence of their title.

NORWICH CITY: Oxborough; Efete (Boateng 57), Burgess, Fox, Scales (Welch 62); Heath (c), Grant; Cole, Byrne-Hewitt (Matthews 75), Sweeney; Simpson. Subs not used: Killip (GK), Couzens.
