Youth team secure excellent win over Southampton

NORWICH City's Under-18s followed up their FA Youth Cup victory in midweek with an impressive 2-0 triumph over Southampton on Saturday morning.

Neil Adams' side had travelled back directly from Preston on Wednesday night after their 6-1 win at Deepdale - their first game as defending champions in the competition.

There was no sign of any tiredness, however, as Lewis Byrne-Hewitt and Ray Grant struck in the second half at Colney Training Centre to notch another three points.

The result left the Canaries eighth in the 11-team table, but ten points clear of the bottom three.

City's next fixture is an away game against basement club Arsenal on Saturday December 21 (10.45am).
