Injuries force Pilkington, Tettey and Bennett out of friendlies
THREE of City’s players called up for international duty this week for their respective countries have had to withdraw due to injury.
Anthony Pilkington (hamstring) and Alex Tettey (knee) have withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland and Norwegian squads respectively.
Pilkington received his first Irish call-up for their friendly game with Poland on Wednesday, but was substituted in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with QPR after only 24 minutes with a hamstring injury.
Tettey was scheduled to travel to Seville in Spain to meet up with his Norwegian colleagues to face Ukraine. Whilst Ryan Bennett (hamstring) has been withdrawn from the England Under-21s squad preparing to face Sweden in Walsall tomorrow night.
