Some information on tonight's pre-season opponents

MEXICAN Second Division side Dorados de Sinaloa will be the Canaries’ first opponents of pre-season when the two sides meet at the Raley Field in Sacramento on Thursday.

The game, which kicks off at 7.50pm local time (3.50am Friday UK time), is part of the Sac Soccer Day, which has been arranged to celebrate the formation of the Sac Pro Soccer franchise.

Dorados, coached by Paco Ramirez, travel north for their final warm-up game for their season, which starts next Wednesday.

They were formed only nine years ago, but have played the majority of their football in the country’s top division and even had Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola on their playing staff at the end of his career.

Nicknamed simply ‘Dorados’, they are based in the north-west city of Culiacán and play at the 23,000-capacity Estadio Banorte stadium.

Other notable ex-players include legendary forward Cuahtemoc Blanco, former Bolton Wanderers striker Jared Borgetti and Sebastien Abreu, who earned 70 full international caps for Uruguay.
