Midfielder joins AFC Bournemouth until end of the seasonCITY can confirm that midfielder Andrew Surman has joined Championship side AFC Bournemouth on a season-long loan.
The 26-year-old recently returned from the Club’s pre-season tour of the United States, where he featured twice, but will join former Canary Elliott Ward at Eddie Howe’s newly-promoted side.
A knee injury restricted Surman to just seven appearances in all competitions last season, with his most recent competitive outing coming in the 1-0 home defeat to Luton Town in the FA Cup in January.
He had a successful loan spell at Dean Court while on the books at Southampton in the latter half of the 2004/05 season, playing 28 times and scoring six goals.
After progressing through the Saints’ renowned Academy, Surman went on to make 146 appearances for them before switching permanently to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer of 2009.
He only played nine times for the West Midlands club, though, and moved to Carrow Road a year later. He has made 56 appearances for the Canaries.
