Canaries Under-21s progress in Norfolk Senior Cup

NORWICH City's Under-21s booked their quarter-final place for the Norfolk Senior Cup with a 3-1 triumph over Fakenham Town on Saturday afternoon.

Kyle Plumb had given the Ghosts a deserved lead after they were faster out of the blocks at Clipbush Park.

Importantly for the Canaries, skipper Cameron McGeehan equalised soon after and Mark Robson's side edged in front through a Tommy Rix own goal on 59 minutes.

City trialist Shaquille McDonald then made sure of the Club's progression when he scored late on.

Robson said afterwards: "I felt it was a very good workout for the boys. They came up against a really strong team in Fakenham who I thought were very good.

"It was a different experience for them and you need to be able to adapt to different conditions, which I thought we did very well."

The draw for the quarter-finals will take place this Friday (November 29) between 6.30pm and 7pm.

NORWICH CITY: Matthews, Barker, Wyatt, McGeehan (c) (Hodd 77), McFadden, Gafaiti, Eaton-Collins, Norman, McDonald, Loza (Hall-Johnson 67), Young. Subs not used: Browne, Randall, Killip (GK)
