Midfielder links up with Championship side

CITY can confirm that midfielder David Fox has joined Barnsley on a 93-day emergency loan deal.

The 29-year-old links up with David Flitcroft’s Tykes, who are currently sitting in 23rd place in the Championship, and will be eligible for their league trip to Leicester City tomorrow.

Fox joined the Canaries in summer of 2010 from Colchester United, making 35 appearances and played his part in the Club’s run to promotion to the Premier League.

The Manchester United academy graduate then played 28 times in City’s first season in the top flight, but has found opportunities difficult to come by since, appearing only twice in the league.

In total, Fox has played 74 games for City, scoring his only goal in the visit to Millwall back in November 2010.

Barnsley also yesterday announced a similar loan deal for Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland.
