Manager reacts after 3-2 defeat against Liverpool

NEIL Adams emphasised the positives from Norwich City’s performance after they pushed Liverpool all the way at Carrow Road on Sunday afternoon.

Despite the visitors eventually running out 3-2 winners, the Canaries’ manager was delighted with the spirit and quality his team showed in the second half.

“There are so many positives again to take from that,” he told Norwich City TV after the final whistle.

“We know it’s about results, but in terms of what we’ve done today it was a fantastic performance in the second half.

“The response then was first class. We took the game to a team who is likely to win the title now, and put them right on the back foot.

“We created chances again, like we did last week, and we took one but then we go and concede that third cruel goal that ultimately costs us the game.”

Despite slipping to their fourth straight defeat, and there being just three matches left of the Premier League campaign, Adams says the squad still carries to belief that they can come out on top in the battle for survival.

“We believe we can stay up. The performances we’ve seen – the 90 minutes at Fulham and at least 45 minutes today – have shown that we’re more than capable of winning games,” he added.

“We’ve got three tough games coming up, but if we perform like we have done we’ll believe that we can get enough points. People have seen that we’ve got a bit about us and that we’ve got every chance.

“We’ll be back on the training ground as soon as, and we’ll be ready for the game at Manchester United believing that we can go there and get something.”
