Canaries to face League Two outfit in round three

NORWICH City face a trip to League Two outfit Shrewsbury Town in round three of the Capital One Cup.

The Canaries will play Micky Mellon's side on a date to be confirmed during the week commencing September 22 after beating Crawley Town on Tuesday night.

The clubs last met in 1986 when both played in Division Two. City comfortably lead the overall head-to-head record with 16 wins from their 23 meetings.

Shrewsbury, who play at Greenhous Meadow, have made an unbeaten start to their 2014-15 campaign, winning two and drawing two of their four league matches up to now.

They caused an upset in the second round, winning 1-0 at Premier League Leicester City. They beat Sky Bet Championship Blackpool in the first round.
