MATCH REPORT: U18s 3-2 READING

23 August 2014

Youngsters triumph over the Royals

NORWICH City's Under-18s ran out deserved 3-2 winners over Reading at Colney Training Centre on Saturday.

A Jamie-Eaton Collins free-kick put Jerry Gill's youngsters ahead before Lewis Byrne-Hewitt doubled their advantage, finding the net with an excellent strike from 25 yards.

The Royals pulled one back after the break, but Todd Cantwell restored the Canaries' two-goal cushion, finishing across the goalkeeper after a near interchange with Benny Ashley-Seal.

A scrappy second for Reading reduced the arrears once more but City saw the game out to earn their first three points of the campaign.

They take on Brighton & Hove Albion in their next Barclays Under-18s Premier League fixture this Thursday in Lancing (1pm).
