City's manager reacts to triumph over Blackburn

NEIL Adams praised the Norwich City supporters after his side’s 3-1 dramatic victory over Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday night.

The Canaries’ fans were on their feet as last-gasp strikes from Bradley Johnson and Lewis Grabban wrapped up the three points on a memorable night at Carrow Road.

“First of all, I’ve got to say the supporters were brilliant tonight. You need that at times, they were fantastic,” he told Norwich City TV after the game.

“It was a great night, great entertainment, a great game of football.

“Aside from the first fifteen minutes, which I was disappointed with for us, I thought we were excellent. We dominated the game and deserved to win.”

Johnson’s 86th-minute goal was similar in style to his opener against Watford on Saturday, and Adams has been delighted with the midfielder’s contribution.

“I see the quality he’s got, and he’s backed it up today with a carbon copy. He’s got that in his locker,” he added.

“He’s a fantastic player; all-action, all energy, and he and Alex (Tettey) in midfield started to boss the game and then we controlled it.

“I thought we were excellent and particularly so in the second half. We controlled the ball, dominated possession and we just looked like we could score from every attack.

“We were a threat on the right, the left, through the centre and the midfield is backing us up with goals now as well. For 75 minutes tonight we were terrific.”

City’s boss confirmed that Javier Garrido was substituted at half-time after reporting a problem with his hamstring.

“Javi’s hamstring felt a little bit sore, a little bit tight. We didn’t want to risk it, so we had to make that change unfortunately for him.”
