REPORT: BRIGHTON 2-0 U18s

28 August 2014

City lose out to Seagulls

THE Canaries' Under-18s were beaten 2-0 by Brighton & Hove Albion at Lancing on Thursday afternoon.

Jerry Gill's team struggled to reach the levels from their impressive 3-2 win over Reading on Saturday, but improved significantly after the break despite being reduced to ten men.

Brighton went ahead after just three minutes when Kofi Boateng turned the ball into his own net, and they extended their lead with a header from another set-piece.

Boateng was then sent off for a professional on 40 minutes, but despite that the youngsters rallied in the second half even though chances were difficult to come by.

They are next in action against Arsenal at Colney on Saturday September 13 (11am).

FULL-TIME: Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 Norwich City

NORWICH CITY: Beauchamp, Efete, Boateng, Burgess, Ramsay; Byrne-Hewitt, Couzens (Scales 45), Cantwell; Eaton-Collins (c) (Walters 45), Ashley-Seal (Simpson 70), Lewis.
