Promising pairing pleases Norwegian star
ALEX Tettey feels his combination with Bradley Johnson in the Canariesâ central midfield is a ânatural fitâ.The duo have impressed in the early stages of the season, screening the back four effectively and both finding the net at the other end as City have flown out of the blocks with four wins out of five.
Ahead of this weekendâs visit of Bournemouth, Tettey spoke to the media about how much he enjoys playing next to the former Leeds United man.
âItâs good; heâs obviously made for this league! I call him âIron Manâ!â laughed the 28-year-old.
âWhen I play with him it naturally fits us, with both of us having almost a very similar way of playing. That gives assurances for the team and the back four.
âHe likes playing games; he is physical, strong â all that stuff. Heâs also a good player, so itâs good to play alongside him.â
Tettey says City just need to carry on the path they have trodden for themselves in order finish the campaign as successfully as they have started it.
âEveryone is working hard. Obviously we are one of the good teams in the Championship, so for me personally I am not that surprised although it is good to win,â he commented.
âYou have to do something to win, and we are doing the right things now so we just need to keep doing what we are doing.
âWe should just concentrate on winning games but we shouldnât get carried away, letâs take it game-by-game and try and win.â
The Norway international has been named in their squad for next weekâs friendly against England at Wembley, and is looking forward to potentially making his bow at English footballâs showpiece stadium.
âIâm in the squad, if Iâm going to play I donât know,â he added.
âItâs a big game, big stage, always against England people watch. Iâve never played at Wembley so hopefully Iâll get some playing team that will be a huge thing for me so Iâm looking forward to it.â
