Carlos Cuellar says City's quality and hard work will pay off.

Huddersfield - Saturday 13 December, 3pm

CARLOS Cuellar was delighted to play a part in a Norwich City victory.

The defender made his second league start of the campaign as Neil Adams' team beat Wigan Athletic 1-0 at the DW Stadium on Saturday.

"I feel alright, I feel good. I always feel happy to play and if I can help to get the three points, then it's very good for me," the experienced Spaniard told reporters after the game.

"We got three points, the team had a good look and was strong, and I think it's going to be so important to get the confidence high again and to be ready for the next one.

"We are a team. You never lose because of one player or two players, you win together and you lose together. We are a team and we have to work together."

"The message now is to keep calm. We've got the quality, we know that. We just have to keep working hard like we are doing, and if we keep doing that then, because the quality is there, we are going to damage teams and we are going to get the option to win."

Neil Adams admitted after the game that his approach had been different as City looked to eliminate the generous defending that has proved costly in recent weeks.

Cuellar was happy to help form a solid unit that coped comfortably with Wigan's pressure.

"Normally we have more control of the ball and more space to play, but today they put a lot of pressure on us. We had to try and play in the channels or at the striker," he explained.

"You have to find different ways to play. The team deserved it, the last few games we've lost so the team deserved to get something."
