FA CUP: CITY DRAW PRESTON IN THIRD ROUND

8 December 2014

Canaries set for Deepdale trip in FA Cup Third Round

NORWICH City will play Preston North End at Deepdale in the Third Round of the FA Cup.

The Canaries were picked alongside the League One outfit in the penultimate tie of the draw on Monday night.

Neil Adams said: "We would have preferred a home tie and it will be a tough game, but we're confident of getting a result.

"Preston will see it as a chance to topple a Championship side, but we'll take the game seriously because we'd like to go as far as we can in the FA Cup."

The two teams last met in March 2011, a match at Carrow Road in the Championship that finished 1-1.

City won on their previous trip to Deepdale, a narrow 1-0 victory in the same season. This will be the first FA Cup meeting between the two sides.

Preston are currently fourth in League One and beat Havant & Waterlooville and Shrewsbury Town to reach this stage of the competition.

The game will be played on the weekend starting January 3, with more details and ticket information to follow in due course.
