Manager praises Carrow Road support in crucial win

CHRIS Hughton praised the Norwich City supporters for sticking with his team as Ryan Bennett’s late header earned the Canaries all three points against Hull City.

They had entered the match winless from their last eight games, but a vocal Carrow Road crowd played their part to secure a crucial Premier League victory.

“We had a support that was very good right throughout the game, because we know it’s frustrating at the moment because we’re not getting the goals and the breaks that we want,” he added

“I thought we had a group of players that kept going right through the game it was a result that we no doubt deserved - sometimes you need that little bit of a break and we got that today.”

Bennett’s header capped a Man of the Match performance and the manager was quick to praise his goalscorer.

“It capped a very good performance from him. Overall, he’s done well Ryan when he’s come in,” he added when speaking to after the game.

“He’s been in and out of the side so it’s difficult for him, but when he’s come in he’s applied himself very well so I’m pleased for him also.”

On a wider perspective, Hughton commented: “At this moment we’re 12th in the division, which is a far healthier position to be in. We have to keep trying to improve that and do the best job that we can.”
