Striker features in Neil Adams' 20-man squad for friendlyLEWIS Grabban is set to feature for the Canaries in their penultimate pre-season friendly against OGC Nice tonight after recovering from an Achilles problem.
The striker, a summer signing from Bournemouth, is part of Neil Adams’ 20-man squad for the visit of the French Ligue 1 outfit to Carrow Road (7.45pm kick-off).
Jonny Howson, however, will be absent this evening and for Friday’s match against Celta Vigo after picking up a knee injury in Friday’s 1-1 draw with SC Bastia in Sallanches.
Gary Hooper is also set to be rested as a precaution after being substituted in that game, while risks won’t be taken over the fitness of a selection of others nursing minor issues, including Kyle Lafferty, Ricky van Wolfswinkel and Alex Tettey.
City still have a strong pool of players to select from, with the likes of John Ruddy, Russell Martin, Wes Hoolahan and Nathan Redmond among those likely to get crucial minutes under their belts with under two weeks to go until the season’s curtain-raiser against Wolves on Sunday August 10.
Youngsters Kyle Callan-McFadden*, Reece Hall-Johnson and Carlton Morris will also link up with the senior squad for the first time this pre-season.
OGC Nice finished in 17th place in France’s top tier last year and have drawn one and lost three of their four warm-up games before now, including a 3-2 defeat to City’s Championship rivals Brentford at the weekend. They are set to take on Spanish giants Barcelona in a friendly on Saturday August 2.
Arsenal completed the signing of their Colombian international goalkeeper David Ospina on Sunday.
