Winger speaks to Norwich City TV

ANTHONY Pilkington says he feels fully up to speed with the rest of the squad after becoming the first City player to complete 90 minutes this pre-season on Sunday.

The Republic of Ireland winger, who missed the friendly against Braintree Town last Tuesday with a stomach bug, is looking forward to the campaign ahead.

“I can’t wait. No football player likes pre-season and the staff don’t either, everyone just wants to get straight into the league but it’s got to be done,” he told Norwich City TV.

“You’ve got to get yourself fit because it’s going to be a long hard season and we need to be ready for it.

“I wasn’t really behind too much – we’ve done a lot of testing and that, Wes (Hoolahan), (Martin) Olsson and myself, and we were just the same as the other lads.

“I’m just going to take it one step at a time this season, try and get in the team and see where it goes from there.”

Pilkington also spoke of the good feeling in the squad, adding: “The new boys have come in and settled like snow.

“The boys are getting used to how the manager and the coaching staff work, and it’s good that we’re over here together for the nine days so we can all get used to each other.”
