Football executive board designed to offer manager maximum support

RICKY Martin believes the assembly of Norwich City’s football executive board will see manager Neil Adams offered maximum support in all areas throughout the upcoming Sky Bet Championship campaign.

Adams himself sits on the board alongside Chief Executive David McNally, newly-appointed Technical Director Martin and Barry Simmonds, who will lead the Club’s player recruitment and scouting operation.

Former Academy manager Martin will assume responsibility for a number of areas that previously came under the remit of the first team manager.

“Long gone are the days where the manager looks after all the departments,” he told Norwich City TV.

“I will look at the support staff that work alongside Neil and the management of the football club at Colney, and the football development side – the set-up behind the scenes, which has become bigger season by season.

“It’s a team that I’m really excited to be working alongside to establish a football board to ensure that we continue to measure and plot our success hopefully back into the Premier League.”

Martin added that the Club as a whole are desperate to make up for the disappointment of last season.

“We are really focussed. We really are determined and hungry,” he said.

“There’s a really good vibe with the staff behind the scenes and with the players. The work ethic we’ve seen over the last few days has been tremendous.

“We know what momentum can do. We need that going into the start of the season, and I can assure you that everyone will be working extremely hard to get us back to where we belong.”
