NORWICH CITY FIXTURES 2014/15: TOP 5 TALKING POINTS

18 June 2014

We run the rule over City's 2014-15 fixtures and pull out the highlights.

1. The First Four
City will play four games in three weeks, with the first game of the new season a trip to Molineux to face newly promoted Wolves. That's sure to be a tasty encounter for the travelling Yellow Army and a lively opener for Neil Adams' side.

On 16 August Carrow Road will welcome Watford, the only Championship side City faced last season in a thrilling League Cup encounter. It was especially memorable for Josh Murphy, who marked his senior debut with this stunning goal.

A Tuesday game at home against Blackburn will follow, before the Canaries launch into their first East Anglian derby against Ipswich Town at Portman Road on 23 August.

2. Seconds Out, Round Two
Ipswich Town will travel to Carrow Road for the second leg of the East Anglian derby on 28 February. The three fixtures prior to that encounter will be an exact duplicate of the beginning of the season - we'll play Wolves, Watford and Blackburn in the run up to derby day.

3. Christmas At Home
City have been drawn at home on Boxing Day this year, where we'll face Millwall. We've only played Millwall once before at Carrow Road on Boxing Day, in League One in 2009. Wes Hoolahan and Grant Holt scored to secure a 2-0 win for the Canaries.

4. Midweek Action
City will play 11 midweek games in the 2014-15 season, pending any changes for TV. Six of those will be away games, two of which land in February 2015. The indomitable Yellow Army will face Tuesday evening games at Brentford, Middlesbrough, Charlton, Blackburn, Huddersfield and Leeds.

5. The Final Four
Canaries fans won't need reminding what the final four looked like last season. This time we'll see a quartet of fixtures bookended by matches likely to carry a healthy dose of intrigue. City face a trip to Leeds before taking on Middlesbrough at home. Newly promoted Rotherham will welcome the squad on 25 April before the final encounter of the season sees Fulham travel to Carrow Road on 2 May.
