Defender hopes City can end away-day blues

JOSEPH Yobo has thoroughly enjoyed his time at Norwich City so far – and he says it will get even better if the Canaries can pick up a positive result against Swansea City on Saturday.

The defender has played in every game since joining on loan from Fenerbahce in January, but draws the greatest pleasure from the team’s successes.

“The more good results you get, the happier you become,” he said when talking exclusively to Norwich City TV before this weekend’s trip to south Wales.

“It was a great win against Sunderland, it was a huge, huge result and very satisfying. We needed the three points and got the three points, but also it was about how well we played. Hopefully we can take that confidence into the next game.

“I’ve really enjoyed it. The Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world, and my time here has been very special. Everyone has been unbelievable.”

City’s form on the road has taken a dip since the turn of the year, with the point picked up at Crystal Palace on January 1 the last in the Premier League away from home.

Yobo insists the team are determined to make amends, but thinks it’s all about results at this stage of the season – with it not mattering where you pick them up.

“We’re trying to put the away form from the last few weeks behind us and put it right, but it’s not about home or away now – it’s about getting results. It’s at that point of the season,” he added.

“We’re playing away from home but we need a result at this stage too because we’re coming really close to the end.

“It will be very tough. We’re just above Swansea right now, but they got a result against Arsenal so they’ll be pushing to try and get the three points this weekend.

“We’ll give everything we have and fight hard to make sure that we come back with a result.”
