Seasiders swoop for Canaries winger

NORWICH City’s Jacob Murphy has completed a three month youth loan move to Sky Bet Championship side Blackpool.

The promising winger will stay with the Seasiders until February 2.

Neil Adams said: “It’s a really good move for Jacob. With it being a Championship club I think it’s perfect for him.

“Lee Clark has just gone in there and he wants to bring players in to freshen it up, and it’s a great opportunity for Jacob to go and establish himself, or certainly to go and get game time.

“We’ve sat down and identified certain players that could benefit from loan moves, and once you make players’ names available then we’re confident, with the quality of the younger players we’ve got, that there will be plenty of opportunities.”

Murphy debuted for the Canaries in their FA Cup Third Round game against Fulham in January and followed that up with successful loan spells at Southend United and Swindon Town.

The 19-year-old made his first start for Norwich in the 3-1 Capital One Cup victory over Crawley Town in August.

Blackpool appointed Clark as manager on Thursday, but the Seasiders currently occupy last place in the division after picking up just six points from their first 15 games, a run that included a 3-1 defeat to City in September.

Murphy will be eligible for their match against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Wednesday.
