Young stopper moves to the Brewers for a month

NORWICH City academy graduate Remi Matthews has joined League Two Burton Albion on a youth loan.

Gorleston-born Matthews has been a part of the City Academy since joining at the age of 10 and has been a mainstay of the development squads since signing a full scholarship in the summer of 2010.

He signed a new two-year deal with the Canaries in the summer of 2014.

The talented young stopper linked up with the first-team for pre-season this year, playing 45 minutes in the friendly against Bastia in Sallanches.

He’ll be joining Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s high-flying Burton – currently second in League Two – until December 28.
