Reading too strong for City's youth team

THE Canaries' Under-18s struggled to cope with Reading's pace and power as they were beaten 5-0 at Hogwood Park.

All the goals came in a difficult first half for Jerry Gill's team, that was made up primarily of first-year scholars and an Under-16 at left-back.

Jake Sheppard, Conor Davis, Harry Cardwell, Marc Ethelston and Andrija Novakovich all netted for a rampant Royals side in the opening 45 minutes.

City were much improved after the break and showed admirable grit and determination which will stand them in good stead for the visit of Tottenham to Colney on Saturday November 29 (12pm).

NORWICH CITY: Oxborough; Fox (c), Emmins, Black, Burgess, Boateng, Byrne-Hewitt, Couzens (Simpson 64), Smith (Cole 45), Cantwell, Eaton-Collins (McIntosh 83). Subs not used: Beauchamp (GK).
