Promising defender to gain valuable experience at the County Ground

YOUNG defender Harry Toffolo has joined League One high-flyers Swindon Town on a month’s youth loan.

The 19-year-old, who played throughout the Club’s victorious FA Youth Cup run in 2012-13, links up with another Canaries loanee at the County Ground, Louis Thompson.

Toffolo is yet to make a senior appearance for City but was named on the substitutes’ bench against Crawley Town earlier this season.

Neil Adams said: “Harry is at a stage now where he is ready for first-team football, or certainly to be involved in a first-team environment on a daily basis.

“He’s going to a club that are doing well and like to play the right way. We don’t want to just put players with any clubs, we want to put them with a club that we feel will benefit them, the player and us.

“He’ll go there for a month and obviously we’ll review that and see how it goes, but he’s looking forward to it and it’s a good opportunity for him.”

Toffolo, who can operate centrally or on the left-side of defence, has started in all of the Development Squad’s Barclays Under-21s Premier League matches so far in 2014-15.

Mark Cooper’s Swindon are currently third in League One and Toffolo could make his debut when they take on Rochdale at home on Tuesday night.
