Midfielder thinks luck will turn for Canaries

JONNY Howson believes City will eventually get the points to match their performances.

The midfielder, who made his first league start of the season in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Rotherham United, thinks it’s only a matter of time before Neil Adams’ side get their rewards for dominant displays.

“If we keep doing that, the points will come our way,” he told Norwich City TV.

“I don’t think there’s a right lot wrong. We’re creating the chances and it’s just about having a bit of luck.

“The classic example was at the start of the second half where someone has a shot, it gets deflected, it rolls onto the post and is there for one of your players to tap it in, but on that side of thing it isn’t just falling for us at the moment.

“The performance and the effort has been there, it’s just the scoreline that needs to improve.”

On a positive note, Howson was delighted to be placed back in the spotlight after recovering from the knee injury that has disrupted his campaign before now.

“I’ve been looking forward to this moment and when I found out I was starting I was over the moon,” he added.

“I think (Alex) Tettey has done ever so well in there so I think I can count myself a little lucky on that aspect, but from a personal point of view I’m just so pleased that I’m back involved, it’s a bit of relief more than anything.

“We have a couple of weeks off now, but I’m happy to be out there on the training pitch or out here. It’s a part of it nowadays, the international breaks, and it’s a chance to regroup.”
