Nine Norwich City players have been called up

CITY will be well represented once again during this October’s international break.

Nathan Redmond is an important player in Gareth Southgate’s set-up with England’s Under-21s, and he is likely to feature in their two-legged 2015 European Championship Play-Off against Croatia.

The first game is at home and will take place on Friday October 10 at Molineux (17.45) before they travel to Vincovci for the return leg on Tuesday October 14 (17.00).

Scotland will resume their 2016 European Championship qualifying campaign against Georgia at Ibrox on Saturday October 11 (17.00), with Russell Martin and Steven Whittaker both included in Gordon Strachan’s squad.

They will then take on Poland in Warsaw on Tuesday October 14 (19.45). Strachan’s men pushed world champions Germany all the way in their opening Group D match last month, losing 2-1 in Dortmund.

Another Group D nation is the Republic of Ireland, who the Canaries' playmaker Wes Hoolahan will hope to represent in their double-header.

Martin O’Neill’s side welcome Gibraltar to Dublin on Saturday October 11 (17.00) before testing themselves against Germany in Gelsenkirchen Tuesday October 14 (19.45).

Neighbours Northern Ireland are in Group F and Kyle Lafferty is part of the squad that will be keen to build on their winning start against Hungary, when the summer signing scored a late winner to secure a 2-1 win.

Faroe Islands are the visitors to Belfast on Saturday October 11 (19.45), and they then face Greece on Tuesday October 14 (19.45) in Piraeus.

Sweden regular Martin Olsson has been called up to their pool as they play host to Russia on Thursday October 9 (19.45) and Liechtenstein on Sunday October 12 (19.45), with both Group G contests taking place in Stockholm.

Fellow Scandinavian Alex Tettey is in Norway’s squad for their Group H games – they will make the trip to Ta’Qali to play Malta on Friday October 10 (19.45) prior to welcoming Bulgaria to Oslo on Monday October 13 (19.45).

Jamaica meet Japan in an international friendly in Niigata on Friday October 10 (11.25) and promising City striker Jamar Loza has been included in their 18-man travelling party.

As reported earlier this week, Jacob Murphy has replaced his twin brother Josh in England’s Under-20s squad. They visit Heerenveen in the Netherlands to take on the hosts, Germany and Turkey in a tournament spread over five days between October 9-13.
