Development Squad beaten at Southport

NORWICH City's Development Squad lost 3-0 to Everton at the Merseyrail Community Stadium on Monday night.

The hosts took the lead after ten minutes when Chris Long curled home from outside the penalty area.

City almost levelled just three minutes later when Jamar Loza nudged a shot onto the post, but it was the Toffees who thereon looked the more likely to get the game's second goal.

Josh Murphy had an effort intercepted by Blues' defender Brendon Galloway before Everton doubled their advantage on 59 minutes.

Belgian forward David Henen rounded Ben Killip in Norwich's goal and scored, and then ten minutes from time Matthew Pennington netted from close range to add a convincing edge to the scoreline.

The Canaries are next in action against West Ham United at Colney on Thursday November 6 (1pm).
