Strikers combining to help Canaries to league summit

LEWIS Grabban is enjoying his fruitful strike partnership with Cameron Jerome.

The forward scored his sixth goal of the campaign in Saturday's 3-1 win at Blackpool, helping the Canaries rise to the top of the Sky Bet Championship.

He has formed a dynamic duo alongside fellow summer recruit Jerome in recent weeks, who also has six goals to his name in all competitions this season.

"It's good playing with him. He complements me well, he works hard for the team and we get a lot of joy against defences. It's a fun time at the moment," he told Norwich City TV after the game.

"Obviously he's scored a fair few goals as well. While I didn't score in my last three, he was scoring which is good. When one doesn't score the other has got to score, and that happened again on Saturday.

"That's what the team needs - two goalscorers is better than one. It's a positive."

City had to respond after losing the first goal once again at Bloomfield Road, but Grabban doesn't think their habit of dominating opposition late in games comes through chance.

"Throughout the game, and generally towards the end of games, we're going to have a bit more quality," he stated.

"We've got a good squad, with players to come on like Gary O'Neil and the young lads, Murph (Josh Murphy) and that.

"We've got a lot of quality that can come on and can affect the game, so generally we're quite strong finishing games."

On working the space to get the shot away for his crucial goal, Grabban added: "Strikers in and around the area have got to try and score goals, that's the main thing when it comes that area.

"I want to try and get a shot off and be as big a threat as possible."
